How To Program Your Novatel Wireless MiFi 2200?

About Your Novatel Wireless MiFi 2200:

The Wireless MiFi 2200 has the following parts:

1. Power Button: Indicates power, battery, and roaming activity.

2. microUSB Connector: Connects to computer devices equipped with a Type A USB port.

3. Service Status Indicator (LED): Visual service status LED indicator that shows service and data modes.

To install the Novatel Wireless MiFi 2200 there are 2 things you will need:
  • WiFi capable computer
  • Browser
No software is necessary for the installation of the Wireless MiFi.  If you have the data plan subscription and ESN established in your billing system, the device programs and installs automatically once the device is turned on and a WiFi capable computer connects to it.

Note: For the Novatel Wireless MiFi to activate, it may require you to be logged onto a computer with administrative priveleges to access the WiFi configuration utility.

To install and activate your wireless MiFi 2200, it is necessary to perform the following steps:

1. To remove the battery door from your device, slide it gently but with firm pressure.

2. Remove the battery from the compartment.

3. Get the ESN for your device.  It should be printed on a sticker underneath the battery within the mifi.

4. Contact your MiFi provider by phone or chat.  Give the representative your ESN.  The representative then will activate you ESN within the billing system.

5. Reinstall the battery and ensure that the MiFi 2200 is completely charged.

6. Press the Power button.

7. Within the wireless network manager on your computer, from the list of available wireless networks, click to select the Novatel Wireless MiFi 2200, and then click Connect.

Please Note: these steps may vary slightly with the different connection managers.

In conclusion, to care for your wireless MiFi 2200:
  • Do not apply adhesive labels to the MiFi 2200.  They can cause the device to potentially overheat and thus may alter the performance of the antenna system.
  • The USB connector should be plugged in easily into your computer's Type A USB port. Forcing the device into a port may damage the connector.
  • Protect the wireless MiFi from liquids, dust and excessive heat.
